How to Stop Weight Re-Gain After Bariatric Surgery: A Nutritional Perspective

"How could anyone possibly put weight back on with such a tiny stomach?" I hear this question at least twice a day from patients who are being assessed and educated for bariatric (weight loss) surgery. Fear of weight regain is a common and legitimate concern, but weight regain is not inevitable outcome of weight loss surgery. Patients who gain some or all of their weight back after surgery seem to have one behavior in common, which has dubbed "soft calorie syndrome".
